Basically its a item that is donated among the users that you dont want to keep or you'll end up here. If you get it pass it on to the next user and every so often they see who has it and post it here and take away some of your points on the site. And I believe you get a medal that says you got the dog poo.

it's a combined total of what you have in your hand and bank. I believe it is 10% of your total points.

Yes, you will get a message in your inbox stating that you have received a donation. Read the message to see what has been donated to you. You can then find the item in your shop items tab located in the user control panel. Hope this answers your question

So how long do you have it until you can get caught with it??

For instance - I stop in everyday usually early morning. Suppose someone sends it to me at 9am and I won't be back until 6am the next day? If Rav decides to 'catch' me with it at 4pm then I am screwed before I knew that I even had it. Is that how it works? Or do I have 24 hours before I could get 'caught' with it?

It's just your bad luck if that happens and it could very easily happen. This is one of my main reasons for continuing to disagree with the points deduction for being caught with it.
