Fable: The Journey is a Lionhead Studios production published by Microsoft Game Studios. It is a on rails, or on cart, adventure game that takes place in Albion (the Fable realm). It is a Kinect Only title that looks to breathe some fresh air to what has been a stale Kinect run this year. Lionhead Studios has a good track record and I think the hope is that they will hit the right notes that Gunstringer did and give us a very well made Kinect game which are hard to come by at the moment. The achievement list has been released, and we broke it down for you. See below!
Estimated achievement difficulty: Based on a scale of 1-10 (10 being hardest): 3/10
Approximate amount of time to 1000: 15 hours +
Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
Number of missable achievements: See below
Do cheat codes disable achievements? None
Does difficulty affect achievements? Nope
Glitchy achievements: N/A
Unobtainable achievements: N/A
Extra equipment needed? KINECT ONLY
From what it looks like, you will need to pay attention to what you are doing as you play the story. There are a lot of miscellaneous achievements for this game which could be misable, but there should be some sort of level select, or multiple opportunities to get the achievements.
This is a Kinect ONLY game, so we need to put our Kinect goggles on. There are a few exceptions, but only exercisesque games are really that difficult. This looks more on the level of Kung Fu High Impact with less of a workout. The game will need to be dumbed down on Kinect, so expect some easy points, especially the story ones with no difficulty achievements.
The only worry is that the arcade mode will be a pain. Gold medals and Kinect don’t normally work well together. We will have to wait and see on that. The average retail Fable release is a: 1.35 TA ratio. This is the latest Fable from Lion Head Studios, and their first Kinect game.
Recommendation? It is hard to say with those arcade achievements which I am classifying as “Skill Based”, but this one is Gamefly/Rent worthy. Lionhead Studios release a quality project and have had plenty of time to develop this game. Look for this to hopefully be one of the best Kinect game when it launches.
